Thanks for this. I wondered if vision models would be able to read my handwriting. I want to keep a hand-written journal (I enjoy the act of writing and it’s good to practice fine motor skills), but I want to be able to search it. I wondered if this would solve my problem and now I know it likely can. Cheers!

When you think about reflecting on your life when you are at the end of it. Having journals that are indexed digitally so you can go to certain moments can help. And what about when you want to look back a month ago at passages you wrote about a topic (a sudden death, a happy moment) to reflect. There is such power in that.
I would ask you to think about privacy when doing so. That is the biggest aspect that requires thought.
Privacy is a good point. I have local models running with Ollama but I don’t think any of them are multi-modal. I’ll have to look into what local options there might be.
